Lotus House
Psychotherapy for Children and Adolescents
Welcome to Lotus House.
I'm Aleksandra Baranowski, a Child and Adolescent Psychodynamic Psychotherapist working with children, young people, and young adults aged 4 to 24. My practice offers a calm, safe, and reflective space where each young person can feel understood, and begin to make sense of patterns, emotions, and experiences that may be shaping how they feel.
I support a wide range of difficulties, from anxiety and low mood through to bereavement, school refusal, self-harm, and the transitions that come with adolescence. I have particular experience working with neurodivergent and SEN young people, including those with autism, ADHD, and other learning differences.
I'm a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), work to the BACP Ethical Framework, hold professional indemnity insurance, and meet regularly with a qualified clinical supervisor — practical commitments that mean the work is held safely.
My approach is child-centred and grounded in psychodynamic thinking — which simply means I focus on the unique inner world each young person brings, and work at the pace they set. With younger children I may use play, creativity, and symbolic communication; with adolescents and young adults I offer a more traditional talking therapy approach. The goal isn't to "fix" anyone, but to offer a space where they can feel heard, understood, and supported.
If you're considering therapy for a young person in your life, the best first step is to get in touch. I offer a free 20-minute phone or Zoom consultation so we can talk through what's bringing you in touch and whether I'm likely to be the right fit. There's no commitment — just a conversation.
